Hey Ladies,

My name is Amanda. I am 22 and my DH is 29. We have been ttc since March 2006. I suffer from PCOS so it has been very difficult for us. From March 2006-November 2006 we did 8 rounds of Clomid/Metformin and 1 round Repronex injectables/Metformin/IUI and no luck. We took the entire year of 2007 off of all drugs (including my metformin). In March this year we had decided to try again but I seen the doctor too late in my cycle to start. So April 16th was day 3 of my cycle and we started the Clomid again with the Metformin (I started taking the metformin in March to get a headstart). Today is cd8. I go on cd10 (wed 4-23) for an ultrasound to see if the Clomid produced good sized follicules and depending on the outcome of the u/s we will do an IUI. I am hoping this works. The Clomid made me real sick this time. So anyway. Sorry to make this so long. I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you!!!

Clomid can be a crazy animal. It made me completely insane, but one of the other women in our group had no trouble. Good luck with the IUI! I hope that things work out for you. Keep us updated, and we'll be sure to check back.

If the clomid doesn't do the trick ask for Femara. It has far fewer side effects (for most people.) Are you seeing a local gynecologist or seeing a local reproductive endocrinologist?

I am doing repronex next. My obgyn says he dont think the Femara is good for my case. But thanks for the suggestion.

OK I didn't think I would get this upset. But I have cried too much today. I went to the Dr at 8:45 this morning. Ended up having to sit and wait 3 hours before getting to see Dr Conrad. My follicles aren't even that big. I had 5 (7,7,10,12,13). The lining of my uterus was only 6 he said thats OK but 7+ would have been better. He did not give me the trigger shot. He told me to do the opk this weekend starting in the morning. If I ovulate by the weekend he will do the IUI this weekend. If I don't ovulate by Monday he wants me back in for a follicle study. I have never had that done before so now I am worried. Any and ALL suggestions are welcome. I really thought this would have been it this time.

Follicles grow between 1 and 2 mm a day. So, by Monday your lead follicle will be plenty big enough (18mm+). In fact, even you 10 mm follicle could potentially make it there. Don't be discouraged by these numbers. Thinks can change and rapidly. As far as the uterine lining, have no clue what to say on that one.

I'm not sure if you are a blog reader, but there are many many women out there who are in a similar position as you. They have a wealth of knowledge for you to bank off of. You can go to my blog, and then click on Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters. She has a HUGE list of blogs broken down by where people are/diagnosis. It also has a question and answer section. There are peer advisors, and all kinds of fun things.

My blog is here:

Keep us updated, and try not to worry. Let your body (even though, it probably no longer has your trust) do what it needs to do for a few days. Take each day one at a time. Who knows what this weekend will yield. It could be bad, sure. However, it could work out really well! Good luck! smile

WOW!! I didnt know they grew that quickly. I had a faint blue line yesturday but it was still the same today. I just hope it shows double lines before Monday. Maybe it will. My husband keeps saying this is the month but I dont think so. Maybe next month when we do the injectables!!
